We are super stoked to have you join us at the seventh annual gathering of NICL coaches and leaders! Our retreat will focus on sharing & developing knowledge, exchanging ideas, and fostering community.
The 2026 retreat is open to registered coaches and leaders!
The $25 cost of registration includes:

DESCRIPTION
Nebraska NICA’s Coach Retreat is an opportunity to recharge, connect, and grow alongside fellow coaches from across the state. This retreat is designed to support and inspire coaches through a mix of learning, connection, and adventure.
Participants can expect:
- Sessions focused on working effectively with student-athletes and fostering positive team culture
- Guidance on leading safe, fun, and engaging rides
- Opportunities to share and learn practical “pro tips” from experienced NICA coaches
- Adventure-based activities and team-building experiences that strengthen relationships and collaboration
- On the Bike Skills Courses (101 and 201)
- A keynote address from former 1994 National Championship Husker football player Aaron Davis, sharing insights on leadership, teamwork, and mentoring young athletes
This retreat will equip coaches with practical tools, meaningful connections, and renewed energy to bring back to their teams.
LOCATION & ACCOMMODATIONS
We will spend both days at the Mallet Lodge at Platte River State Park. All attendees will need a Nebraska State Park Parking Permit. This year’s summit is a 2-day event, and if you would like to stay overnight (at your own expense), CLICK HERE for cabin reservation information.
WHAT TO BRING
Bring clothing appropriate for the forecasted weekend weather, your mountain bike, helmet, bike lights, and a water bottle if you plan to ride.
OPTIONAL ADD-ONS
On-the-Bike (OTB) Skills 101 and 201 Training Sessions
OTB 101 and OTB 201 will take place on Saturday from 3:30-7:30 PM. To register, you will add this to your registration in the next window. This is included in your registration at no extra cost.
